CWRU to renovate, expand one of its most historic buildings

After the Adelbert Gym is renovated and expanded, including this new lobby addition
to the front entrance, it will be renamed DiSanto Arena in honor of the DiSanto
family’s philanthropic gift to Case Western Reserve University (OSPORTS).

Adelbert Gym, 2128 Adelbert Rd., one of Case Western Reserve University’s (CWRU) most historic buildings, will soon undergo a transformative renovation, made possible primarily by recent contributions totaling $7.9 million from two generous trustees.

Master Chrome coming down, cleaning up

Master Chrome, a fixture on Cleveland’s near West Side since
1950, is coming down over the next month or two. The state
of Ohio may seize the property and ultimately list it for sale
so the 0.57-acre property can be returned to productive

Fencing went up yesterday around the former site of Master Chrome, a polluted brownfield industry, 5709 Herman Ave., in Cleveland’s Gordon Square neighborhood. And in the next month or two, its vine-covered building is coming down. After that, any contaminated materials and soil will be removed. Then the property’s future will be decided.

The Cleveland Guardians Major League Baseball team is seeking $64,795,282 for Progressive Field. The Cleveland Cavaliers National Basketball Association team wants $40,308,811 for Rocket Arena. And the Cleveland Soccer Group is in the running for $19.9 million to build a new soccer stadium, according to the Statehouse News Bureau.

Browns, Brook Park release new stadium master plan

The Browns’ new $2.4 billion stadium and mixed-use destination
will repurpose vacant industrial land in Brook Park near Cleve-
land Hopkins International Airport by 2029 (HKS, HSG).

A 68-page master planning document was unceremoniously released last week by the city of Brook Park and Haslam Sports Group (HSG). In it is the most detailed look yet at the key design standards and approach for developing the mixed-use district surrounding the Browns’ new stadium.

Bedrock splits Rock & Roll Land project
