When it was built in 1924, 925 Euclid was one of the largest office buildings on the planet and had the largest bank lobby in the world. Now it’s being offered for sale among the likes of auto parts stores, fast food joints and other retail properties whose owners could no longer manage or financially support them.

Hough building boom continues

Cleveland Trades Council urges data center regulations, not ban

Data centers are growing in number while many office buildings are fading.
In Downtown Cleveland, the Sterling Building on Euclid Avenue has become
a 250,000-square-foot hub for technology, cloud computing and cybersecurity

As Cleveland considers a moratorium on the addition of new data centers until it can update its zoning code to better address them, and as a statewide ban on larger data centers is pending, the Cleveland Building and Construction Trades Council said it wants the emotion taken out of the debate.

Avelo Airlines expanding to Cleveland

Avelo Airlines is expanding to Cleveland starting in June with two new routes using

Shortly after low-fare carriers Frontier Airlines announced service reductions and Spirit Airlines announced it was ceasing its remaining service to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, a new low-fare airline is stepping in to fill the void with two new routes.

Public-private partnership emerges to save Rockefeller Building

The Rockefeller Building has another opportunity for a reprieve from the wrecking ball
if a public-private partnership can bring funding and plans together to save the historic

K&D Group confirmed that it, along with the city and county land banks, are joining forces to acquire and redevelop the historic Rockefeller Building, 614 W. Superior Ave., in Downtown Cleveland. According to those who have been involved in the project, it may be one of the last, best hopes to save the building.

It has a new brand, a Web site, a wait list and a place already cemented in Greater Cleveland’s history. But what Naia Noir doesn’t have are modern competitors. In fact, after scouring our Lake Erie waterfront and Cuyahoga County records, NEOtrans contends that this is the first lakefront residential high-rise built in Cuyahoga County in 53 years.

After a brief pause, the next chapter for a block of East 55th Street, between Bonna and Prosser avenues, is proposed to begin. That block, in Cleveland’s St. Clair-Superior neighborhood, held Frank Sterle’s Slovenian Country House for 68 years — an icon in Cleveland’s Slovenian and Croatian communities.
